HISTORY
Gisborne Thistle A.F.C is an association football club based in New Zealand on the East Coast of the North Island, and was started in 1924. The club celebrated 100 years in 2024, and is one of the oldest football clubs in New Zealand.
Gisborne Thistle is the biggest football club in Gisborne, with it’s senior playing pool reaching just over 160 players. They have 7 senior teams of both men and womens, with two Central Development Teams at U13 & U15 level.
The club has recently expanded into junior football for 2026 and is seeking interested boys and girls from age 4 through to 14 whether its social or more structured football, we will aim to find a team for you. Please check out our junior programmes page on the website for more information.
